We went across the street to Despaña this afternoon to sample the last ibérico ham in the United States. Paper-thin slices from the leg of a pig that tasted like it ate butter its entire life in a Spanish cave insulated with butter. We had wine too.

Performance Z-A at Storefront

Around the corner from where we live the Storefront for Art and Architecture is building a luminescent Ring Dome in Petrosino Park to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

Beginning this Friday, September 21st, Storefront is hosting 26 days (Z-A) of consecutive performances inside the Ring Dome.

War has left its indelible mark on the bodies of the men in Nina Berman’s photo exhibit of veterans from the war in Iraq.

Purple Hearts: Back from Iraq” documents the stories of men who fought in Iraq and returned home missing pieces of their bodies and minds. The images of post-adrenaline loss are some of the most haunting we’ve ever seen.
