Asian Contemporary Art Fair at Pier 92 this weekend

Showcasing the work of both established and emerging figures at the forefront of Asian art, ACAF NY will get underway at Pier 92 Friday, November 7. Upwards of 80 international galleries and non-profit organizations will feature an exciting array of art from 15 different countries.

On Saturday, October 4th, in Brooklyn, anyone with a canvas and paint is invited to take to the streets and paint a personal response to present day America. Whether that’s the current financial crisis or the war in Iraq or the fact that parts of the South have infant mortality comparable to 3rd world countries is completely up to you.

We’re seeing the effects of the melting ice caps first hand at thehappycorp re-education center. This little guy made himself at home while Dave was at lunch.

He got a hold of a black sharpie and went to town on our wall calender. Now all the days are black Xs; a statement about his species’ precarious situation, no doubt.

PERFORMA 07 kicks off this Saturday, 27 October with a free performance of Francesco Vezzoli’s Right You Are (If You Think You Are) at The Guggenheim.

This is the second PERFORMA biennial in New York. The four week program includes performances, exhibitions, film, screenings, lectures and symposia, as well as PERFORMA TV and PERFORMA Radio at over 30 cultural institutions.
