John Zorn Improv Nights at The Stone

 | by Kevin Jackson

Starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, and on Friday, November 21, not-for-profit performance space The Stone will be hosting a pair of nights full of wild improvisation — East Village style. The shows will feature John Zorn, the venue’s artistic curator, not to mention a consummate musician, and is expected to feature many, many special guests, including cellist Okkyung Lee.

With no merchandise or refreshments on sale, the revenue from every event at The Stone goes directly to the artists. However, this show is a benefit for The Stone itself: the performers will be giving everything toward keeping the location open.

Even if you’ve never been to The Stone before, these would be the nights. Come out to experience some fantastic music live. Come out to keep a fantastic venue open.

Find out more at thestonenyc.com; pick up tickets the days of the events at the location itself on the corner of Avenue C and 2nd Street.
