From Faucet to Flush - The Future of New York’s Water System

 | by Kevin Jackson

Starting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 15, several conservationist luminaries will convene on the Museum of the City of New York for the roundtable New York Infrastructure: From Faucet to Flush: The Future of New York’s Water System.

Emily Lloyd, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, will discuss issues facing local waters, as well as her agency’s efforts to upgrade the city’s water system. Other speakers include Paul Mankiewicz, president of the Gaia Institute and an expert on wastewater; Alex Matthiessen, President of Riverkeeper; and Christine Holowacz, co-chair of the Greenpoint Waterfront Association for Parks and Planning.

If you want to know how the (century) ol’ water system is holding up and what’s being done to improve it, this looks to be great opportunity to get in the loop.

Reservations are required; visit mnyc.org for more details.
