Coney Island Film Fest

 | by Josh Millrod

This has been a bummer summer for Coney Island, but there are still some good times to be had before it becomes a sanitized tourist trap full of kitchey Nathan’s memorabilia and rides that actually work.

This Friday, September 26th, the annual Coney Island Film Festival starts. The actual screenings begin on Saturday and go through Sunday night. Friday is just the opening ceremonies, so it won’t get in the way of FGHT NGHT. There are continuous screenings all day Saturday and Sunday and day passes cost $15 and $10, respectively. The only add-on is our personal favorite part of the weekend which is the special screening of The Warriors on Saturday at 10:30pm, which is worth way more than the $10 admission.

The screenings take place in Sideshows by the Seashore and the Coney Island Museum. For more info check out the festival’s website.
