Andrew WK Solo Piano

 | by Josh Millrod

Very few people associate Andrew WK, best known for his party anthems “I Love New York City” and “Party Hard” and Santos Party House, with experimental music. Although it was only a brief stint, Andrew WK was a founding member of Wolf Eyes and was one of the 77 drummers in last years’ 77 BOADRUM with the Boredoms.

This Wednesday, October 24th, Andrew WK is playing a set of solo piano improvisations at John Zorn’s experimental club, The Stone. We don’t really know what to expect, but it should be interesting. Hopefully, it won’t involve him smashing himself in the face with a brick, like the cover of his first album.

What: Andrew WK Solo Piano Improvisations
When: Wednesday, September 24th @ 10 pm
Where: The Stone on the corner of 10th and Ave C
Cost: $10 for adults and $5 for students
