What time is your brand?
| by doug jaegerthehappycorp spends a lot of time thinking about things. One of the things we think about most is how brands communicate to people. Recently I have bumped into a couple interesting brand tools. One is called Brand Tags, it explores the relationship with brand logos and a consumers one word response to the logo. Another one of our friends sent us this link from Dear Jane Sample. It discusses which brands you touch at different times of the day, I thought I would explore that for myself. I created the graphic below…

Yes, thank you for doing one too! That is actually one of the reasons I did mine, is to get others to create their own
I think your is prettier than mine. But then again I’m an Suit.

Doug: I did one of these too off of Jane Sample’s post (she actually called me out on it to do one, so I felt compelled!) though not a neatly art directed as yours.
A commenter (someone I don’t know) called me to task for not including any of the home decor item I interact with– sheets, towels, mattresses, plates, silverware, wall paint, windows, artwork, etc. - though I have to admit I would not know who made 99% of that stuff without looking. http://is.gd/lgT
But still, there are hundreds of things - the brand of refrigerator, stove, the brand of napkin, garbage bags, garbage pails, etc. that I could have added
What I told the commenter is that I only included brands that I consciously chose that day. (e.g. the wall paint is there, I don’t choose it on a daily basis the way I choose my toothpaste) Since you seem to have taken a similar route, would you say that’s a fair assessment of your methodology?
I really likened it to logo association, and if I bought the thing. I did include the Kenmore fridge at work, but not the one at home, because it’s logo is at floor level, and it less visible. a lot of goods, like wallpaper, artwork, etc, are not as much on my immediate radar during the day, however on any given day a piece of art becomes part of a conversation.
in a way this reminds me of time sheets… would be interesting to average these stats over a longer period of time.

I really like this trend. Here are my 12 logos in first 12 minutes of my day. 12 Logos in 12 Minutes (A New Blogging Trend)
That’s a pretty extensive list you have there. So far I haven’t seen any blog logos and we deal with them hourly at times.
Hey, I’m not complaining! I chickened out and stuck with the basics for a Friday night with a little added as a twist.
What is the first logo at 9 am?
