A large, oblong, slightly projectile-shaped package arrived in the mail yesterday. In the past we’ve had some postal surprises (albeit good) from intern mailings, so we approached with a bit of caution.

Happily, the box emitted no stench or blast, but an autographed snowboard from Gretchen Bleiler, a thank-you for building her website.

Not that we’ll ever ride it. Gretchen’s calligraphy is far too valuable. We’ll probably mount it over the island in our kitchen so we can stare it during the summer and imagine sliding down some cold slopes.
