Buddhist monks protest in Burma
Buddhist monks, protesting the government’s disavowal of civil and human rights, led peaceful marches through the capitol city this week, backed by 100,000 civilians.
Burma’s government has responded with violence, raiding monasteries, beating monks, scattering protesters with clubs, and in at least one instance, opening fire into an unarmed crowd.
The scene in Burma today is reminiscent of the mass killings of 1988 when the military junta seized power.
If we speak up now, there is a strong chance that world awareness will lead to intervention in Burma and the return of soveriegn rule to the people.

We may not all walk the same roads in life, but anyone who draws breath knows that freedom is worth fighting for.
