the sale
A couple of weekends ago, thehappycorp’s own, Matthew Spangler decided to sell his 2001 BMW 650 GS motorcycle since he was upgrading to a slightly larger bike to accomodate his large 6′5″ frame. He posted it up to craigslist.org with a picture and a price on Saturday afternoon and his first name and contact info. Saturday evening, the first of many interested parties responded to the ad with interest. His name was “Amit” and he was hoping to check the bike out on Sunday. Off all the people in New York interested in this bike, it turned out that this “Amit”, happened to be Amit Pitaru from Insertsilence - who became a friend of thehappycorp and Mr. Spangler after presenting at Semi-Permanent05 - the global art & design conference we put together with Design Is Kinky. The two quickly realized the connection and after Amit checked out the bike, he decided it would make a great birthday present to himself. Here’s a couple of pictures that show the serendipitous sale that gave us all smiles.
