Getting Credits for Happiness

 | by your friend

In a recent article from the New York Times Magazine, it’s been revealed that there are actually classes in the science of well-being and happiness. Featured at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va, as well as more than 200 colleges and graduate schools in the US, the course was formed to decipher the differences between feeling good and doing good.

According to the course, there are many differences between the two. Feeling good, is just a sort of pleasure that never ceases and, as a result, turns into a sort of never-ending syndrome positive psychologists are calling “the Hedonic treadmill.” Doing good, on the other hand, can lead to a sort of lasting happiness that won’t damper by the pursuit of achieving it again. The course, it should be noted, goes especially well with the students at George Mason University in Fairfax Va, since the The Princeton Review has documented that the campus is one of the 15 most unhappy in the country.

We here at thehappycorp hope those George Mason students buck up and smile. You only live once, you know.
