Everybody Hurts. Even Bees, Sometimes.

 | by your friend

Can bees live single, solitary lives and still be happy? According to an article in Science News Online, not only can they, but in the United States and Canada alone, a high majority of them already do; 75% at that.

Known as loner bees, alfalfa leafcutting bees are just one species of bee that are prone not to sting as often as honeybees since they don’t have a territory or honeycomb to guard. This makes them the preferable choice to run into if you happen to roll in a pit of pollen one day.

The rest of the article goes on to discuss how honeybees are actually declining in this country, thus prompting pollinators to find new usages for solitary bees. Check out the article if you have a deep rooted interest in bees or the act of gathering honey. Or rolling in pollen.
