Doug and I spent last Saturday at Saatchi & Saatchi’s New York office participating in the preliminary judgement of this year's International Andy Awards. Cake and punch were served.
Mid-day we received a behind the scenes look at Turner's new media venture SUPER DELUXE which will offer exclusive original comedy from both established and rising comedy stars, developed exclusively for the network and celebrating the artists' creative spirit, providing comedic talents a forum to showcase and share their own inspired concepts and performances. Each artist will have his/her own dynamic and personalized area featuring exclusive content, a blog and opportunities to promote appearances and projects or further customize their part of the network.
Among the judges were Darryl Kluskowski (VP / Creative Director) and Jaimi Novak (Associate Creative Director) of BBDO Minneapolis. Darryl also does some great animation work at SkullBoy Worldwide, Inc.
Yahoo was on site covering the event and posed a few questions to the judges, my personal favorite was “What's next for interactive media?” to which many replied that they “had no idea”. thehappycorp gave no comment except “watch this space”.
Me and “Pittsburgh” Danny Z had the idea for a “SUPER DELUXE” last year… glad somebody is doing it. But as Keith Richards once said - ideas are like radio signals. They’re up in the air for anyone to pick up. Keep your antenna up!
