One Club to Rule Them All

Watching advertisements is a lot like watching a dog show, most are boring and make you nod off into a sleep induced coma. But, if you’re patient, one or two shiny collies sometimes strut by and make you sit up at full attention, and the same goes for advertising. For every ten lame Buick commercials there’s at least one Burger King commercial that makes you cry secret sauce and believe in the power of marketing again. And also like a dog show, there are judges for the best and freshest in the business, and they’re called The One Club, a nonprofit group of the most creative minds in the world when it comes to interactive media.

Our very own Doug Jaeger is one of the judges for Volume IX of the edition of Advertising’s Best Interactive & New Media. On a scale of 1 to 10, The One Club, compiled of judges from around the world, come together and rate the very best advertisements found on the web. And at the end of the year, they release a book called One Show Interactive that features interviews from the winners with bright, shiny pictures of the advertisements chosen.

Founded in 1975, the One Club maintains the highest standards of creativity in advertising. Through scholarships, portfolio reviews, and annual student exhibitions, the nonprofit One Club works to foster up and comers in the business.

Check out Volume IX out now. This year’s edition is Doug’s third appearance as judge. In 2005, he served as chair.
