Publicity Intern
| by your friendWe are a young, successful, and fun agency looking for a talented intern to help build our publicity department. We have internal and client projects that are ready-made for media exposure and need a talented go getter who will go… get… it.
You read Page 6 and the front page of the WSJ. You know your way around NYC and how to talk yourself into a good party. When you walk in the room, all eyes turn to you. You get along with everyone, have an easy time making friends, and like to work hard and play hard. You are not afraid to call a major talent agency and talk to agents about celebrities and events.
Are you looking for a creative outlet and a position with responsibility? Are you willing to make phone calls, send emails, run errands, and organize events? If so, this is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an expanding agency while gaining real industry experience. We want someone who will charm every editor in town with their wit, style, and happiness and follow it up with a professional pitch and release that forces them to take you seriously.
Responsibilities
Thehappycorp is looking for candidates with strong writing, communication, and research skills who are interested in PR and marketing. Intern responsibilities include finding leads, contacting magazine and newspaper representatives, organizing marketing materials, building databases, writing and sending press releases, attending special events, and maintaining press information.
You will work with a PR professional whose established contacts and skills will help you learn this industry inside and out. You will have innovative, press-worthy material to pitch that will make your job easier. Strong skills using Excel and Word, maintaining databases, and organizing contacts are required. Design capabilities are highly desirable and experience with Adobe software (Photoshop, InDesign) is huge plus. Knowledge of HTML and familiarity with the web is key. Candidates must be computer-savvy and preferably comfortable with Macs. The job hours are approximately 40 hours/week, with occasional late nights when we are finishing a project.
Incentives
This position pays $400/month plus a monthly subway pass. You will work in a creative, fun environment with great clients and award-winning advertising and marketing talent. You will learn valuable trade skills from our team and have the opportunity to attend A-list events and parties. You will be tapped into a network of fun, influential companies and individuals that will help open many doors in the future.
Schedule
This is a M-F position, 10:00 AM - 6 PM. The internship is for three months, after which you will be evaluated for full-time employment. We do not guarantee full-time employment, but this position gives you a far greater chance at securing a full-time position with thehappycorp global.
To Apply
If interested, please send a resume and a cover letter to intern@thehappycorp.com with “happy publicity intern” in the subject line. You can send Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, and PDF attachments only! No faxes or phone calls, please. Otherwise, copy your resume and cover letter into the body of the email and we’ll get back to you. Hi!
It's Jeanne Marie, a French student(in an art school) who is looking for an internship in your agency…
I began my online portfolio, but it is not over yet.
I send you the link, if you want to see it:

(I’m sure it’s working on internet explorer.)
I'm still working on it, for the moment it is mostly fine art projects, but later I'll put more i.e. design or web design projects.
It's a 2 month internship, and an unpaid one, in May and June, but if you need it, I can come in the middle of April and stay until the middle of July!I have my own laptop computer.
I have to find a web design internship, but not only because my school ask me for, above all because I really want to learn with you, I'm very motivated, and I am sure that I won't be a dead weight, I love design and I am a hard worker!
Have a nice day,
Thank you.
Jeanne Marie.
