Hopper (Don’t worry you Ben Nabors lovers, its not permanent).

Matt Hopper is one of our favorite musical friends, his music has been bouncing around our happy-radio airwaves for months. We were thrilled to bring him to the stage behind thehappycorp for an acoustic set at our official happy hour.

Matt's Ep, The Gold Rush, came through our doors about a year ago. We like his music’s rich folk and country influences. His sound is an upbeat and refreshing departure from the sea of emo-acoustic crooners drowning us in the bleeding hearts (you know, the ones dangling from their sleeves).

Matt hails from Anchorage, Alaska, where his band The Roman Candles was awarded “Best Rock Band” in 2003. Sadly, the band broke up while on tour, but we think it’s awesome that Matt made it his personal mission to complete the tour, and has been playing on the road ever since.

thehappycorp is pleased to be the first NYC stop on Matt's tour across the country. His next stop is this Saturday night at Piano's, if you can't join us on Friday, make sure to check him out on Saturday.

Thehappyhour will take place this Friday from 6pm-10pm. As always Pizza and Beer from L'asso Pizza and Brooklyn Brewery will keep us all going.
