thehappycorp Turns 2 At Last Week’s Happy Hour

 | by your friend

Aaahhh, the happy hour. Staff member Ben Nabors explains something to someone while Scott Irvine of The Stills hangs with Madeleine of Sentimentalist Magazine and Jane DuBiel of L’asso.

Last Friday, July 7th, thehappycorp celebrated its second birthday. We were in the company of close friends and colleagues, some with large appetites (thanks L’asso Pizza), some with great thirsts (thanks Brooklyn Beer), and some with personal vendettas to cake Doug Jaeger, our brave founder, in the face.

As we voyage forward into our Terrible 2’s, we are continually made aware (by our bankers, by our lawyers, by our rich friends, and by our poor friends) that New York City is a tough town. Getting this far, and keeping the lights on, is a great accomplishment. We’d like to thank everyone that’s been involved in thehappycorp’s success so far, from our clients to our interns, and everyone that dropped by thehappycorp last Friday for a beer, a conversation, and a slice of cake.

All in all, we’d say it was the best 2nd birthday party we’ve ever had. Happy Birthday to us. Thanks again to Brooklyn Brewery and L’asso Pizza for sponsoring the party.

The cake ceremony started out so innocently as Lhea Welsh holds the cake for Doug…

And then came the sneak attack by Aaarrr designer, and lead pirate, Kat Choi. Kindly direct all fan mail here.
