Doug Jaeger, thehappycorp Founder, no doubt possesses many skills, cutting and pasting among them. So it comes as no surprise that the CUT&PASTE design competition has recognized Doug’s expertise and invited him to serve as one of their four judging panelists. We jest. A little. In the words of CUT&PASTE, Doug has been called on as a “distinguished professional” who will certainly provide insightful commentary and … for this tournament-style event, to take place on November 19, 10pm, at M1-5.

The CUT&PASTE design competition will bring 8 contestants together to compete one-on-one and battle their way to the top. We have been told to expect something along the lines of the “Iron Chef” of graphic design colliding with a magazine launch party. No holds barred, time limits imposed, and an atmosphere that will keep the good times rolling late into the night. Live camera feeds will project contestant progress throughout the event, which will be MCed by Bobbito (of Hot 97 fame). An afterparty will follow. (Obviously.)

Doug will be judging as part of an extraordinarily talented and accomplished panel. He’ll be joined by: Tristan Eaton, of KidRobot Dunny fame and founder of Thunderdog Studios; Kendrick Reid, VP On-Air Design at Comedy Central; and Jeff Staple of Staple Design, a top design firm based in NYC. Will the illustrious judges be brandishing scissors and glue as they speak? Would that even be funny? Will Doug or one of the others turn out to be a tongue-lashing Simon Cowell type, with unforgiving eyes and incisive remarks? And if so, who will play the part of Paula Abdul?
