LVHRD Island Cruise

 | by chantal

On Monday, July 18, 2005, LVHRD set sale on a luxurious Island Cruise off the coast of Manhattan. Members were instructed to meet at Battery Park in their finest nautical gaaarrrb and “follow the toast” to the evening’s brave vessel. Two giant pieces of toast, courtesy of the Night Agency, greeted all guests and led them to the boarding area. Shock and surprise ensued as the toast directed them to the awaiting cruise, known to seasoned seafarers as the Staten Island Ferry.

A refreshing ride, complete with galley beverages and hors d’oeuvres, entertained boat-goers on their scenic water tour. Upon docking, the toast navigated the undiscovered borough of Staten Island, safely escorting fellow shipmates to the Real McCoy, a sovereign nation and Irish pub at 76 Bay Street, St. George. Nearly 200 LVHRD members made the voyage, dressed as pirates, sailors, sea creatures and yachters. Glasses were full of frothy brews, the jukebox blasted jolly tunes, and all island adventurers had a swashbuckling good time.
