thehappycorp’s Newest Recruit: Ben Nabors

 | by your friend

Ben Nabors joins thehappycorp as its new Events Director. Recently graduated from college, Ben has quickly established himself as a planning powerhouse. He will be heading all event-related operations for thehappycorp, notably in collaboration with the LVHRD Foundation and in preparation for the New York debut of the Semi-Permanent design conference in the United States.

Ben has previously been involved with the production of several large-scale events for flavorpill (NYC) and M3 (Miami Music Multimedia). He planned flavorpill’s 2004 Halloween and holiday parties, which were attended by over 2000 people, and was a major factor in the success of M3 2005, the annual 3-day music festival held in Miami during the Winter Music Conference. In his experience as an event planner, he has worked with major corporate partners including Absolut Vodka, Dos Equis, Samsung, Tronic Studios, Motorola, and Reebok. thehappycorp looks forward to his personable and professional approach to its future events.

Ben is a born and raised Southerner, hailing from a small town in North Carolina. He was filled with big dreams and great ambitions from the womb, which may have contributed to his birth weight being a whopping 10 pounds, 2 ounces. Ben Nabors (allegedly) has no middle name, and is a graduate from Carleton College, cum laude, in 2004. During his four years as a student in Minnesota, he majored in English Lit, specializing in expatriate literature, and minored in Spanish. In addition to learning the elements of the Spanish language, Ben assumed the notably passionate qualities of the culture. Naturally, he journeyed beyond the classroom in pursuit of duende, knowledge, amor, and authentic paella, spending a year and a half immersing himself in the great city of Madrid. While in Spain, on the sly, he took up an apprenticeship which led to him moonlighting as an urban toreador — those skills have since been adapted to rodeo-style antics on the streets of New York. Ben is also remarkably prone to causing mischief and mayhem in the form of parties and pranks, and once co-founded an experimental event production group called the Foundation of Fools. Needless to say (but we’ll say it anyway), he is a dynamo and already infusing new energy to thehappycorp team.
