The past two years, the men of thehappycorp have participated in Bearduary, the two-month beard celebration. We’ll be at it again this January.
The premise is this: come the new year, whether dashing mountain men or an adorable babyfaces, men around the world begin (or continue) sprouting whiskers. You can shave down to nada and grow it out again. You can keep the facefuzz you’ve got and periodically trim. The point is to have and grow a beard during January and February.
This year, the Bearduary folks are encouraging participants to have their beards sponsored. We’re not talking auto-covering NASCAR sponsorship here. It’s more along the lines of having a handful of friends donate, say, a dollar a week while your face disappears into its thicket. By the end of Bearduary, you’ll have plenty to give to charity.
