This morning when I woke up, I had a text message on my phone at 7:15 that said “I am currently in line at apple store soho, come say hi on your way in”. It’s from none other that Johnny Vulkan. At this moment I forget what day it is. I know it’s only Tuesday, and the geek in me knows that the iPhone comes out on June 29th, as well as all the YouTube movies on appletv and the iPhone. Could today be the 29th. I get on my motorcycle on my way to work and I coast past a film shoot on mulberry and prince. As I get closer to the apple store I see johnny by himself standing in front of the store scrolling his phone. I then reach into my pocket and pull out my phone to see what the date is.. it’s the 26th. What is this madness?
As it turns out, Johnny is standing first in line for Keep a Child Alive. He is going to plans purchase the first iPhone + Jawbone and put in on Ebay. The resulting money he will pass on to the Foundation. As well he is considering selling sponsorships of his shirt at $500/logo.
