a great place to drinkLolita bar, turned 5 years old tonight and promptly crapped its pants, as most 5 year olds are prone to do. This place is run by a couple of great people - Katie and Clyde - they were gracious hosts to our first LVHRD events, including the screening of Ze Frank films.
Tonight should be fun. The dapper dressin Daniel Chu will be joining us there, and we’ll all be swingin to the sounds of the Vintage DJ and Ollabelle playing at 9PM. Apparently the Vintage DJ uses old record players as turntables and plays only 45s. Can you scratch on those? No? Good, cause I don’t like scratch DJs.
I DJ’d late night at the end of one of our LVHRD events. It was one of the most fun nights I had all of last year. Nothing but guilty pleasure 80s hits all night long. Antonia Thompson and Sturgis Adams cut up the dance floor to the sounds of Talk Talk and Billy Ocean.
There will be free food and drinks from brooklyn lager and level one vodka (while it lasts). The place is located at 266 broome st. Come if you’re reading this in the next 5 minutes.
